HOLLYWOOD — One week from its finale, UPN talent show “America’s Next Top Model” unveiled new ratings highs Tuesday, winning its hour among young women.
According to Nielsen, the Tyra Banks-hosted “Top Model” hit season highs in both adults 18-49 (2.2/7) and total viewers (4.42 million), scoring the net’s largest tune-in during the Tuesday-at-9 hour with regular series programming in more than six years.
Show led its hour in women 18-34 (4.2/13) and placed second to NBC’s “Last Comic Standing” (3.5/11 in A18-49, 7.87 million viewers) in other key categories. In adults 18-34 (2.8/10) and most female demos, “Top Model” matched or set new network records for the time period.
“Model” wraps next Tuesday, with a second edition being prepped for next winter.
NBC won each hour on the night in adults 18-49, led by a special “Meet My Folks” at 10 (3.7/11). At 8, “Dog Eat Dog” (3.0/11) edged out Fox’s down-trending “American Juniors” (2.9/10) for the first time.
