Veteran producer joins skein, show preems in January
Twentieth TV’s “On Air With Ryan Seacrest,” the $20 million-plus syndication hybrid combining a variety show, a talkshow and an entertainment-news program, has signed David Armour as co-executive producer.Armour is a veteran producer of firstrun syndication shows, including “Classmates,” “The Ricki Lake Show” and “The Montel Williams Show.” The other exec producers are Adam Freeman and Seacrest. Twentieth has also given a 40-episode renewal to “Ambush Makeover,” its firstrun-syndicated series now running on Fox-owned stations in selected markets. Twentieth hopes the show pulls in more viewers in its current test so the distributor will be justified into rolling it out to stations in the entire country. The Seacrest show, which will be live in a good portion of the Eastern seaboard, premieres in January on TV stations in 90% of the U.S., led by the Fox O&Os. Robb Dalton, president of programming and production for Twentieth TV, confirmed that Rosanna Tavarez (“Popstars”) will be news anchor, reporting on the entertainment news of the day. She’ll also engage in occasional byplay with Seacrest as the show gives a respectful nod to Buena Vista TV’s hit syndicated show “Live With Regis & Kelly.” Martha Kell Brown, who created and exec produced “The Arsenio Hall Show,” has signed up as consulting exec producer of the Seacrest show. The senior news producer is Mary Jaras, formerly senior producer for “Classmates” and “Access Hollywood.” The newly hired talent bookers are Siobhan Schanda , Tricia Daniels and Kari Johnson.
