Rick Leventhal has reupped with Fox News Channel, continuing on as correspondent and general assignment reporter.
Leventhal has been with the news net since 1997, when he joined its Chicago bureau. Most recently, he covered the shooting of Councilman James Davis in New York’s City Hall and an alleged murder plot by three teens in New Jersey.
Leventhal spent nine weeks covering the war in the Middle East earlier this year as an embedded journalist in Kuwait and Iraq. He was one of the first reporters on the scene at the World Trade Center during the 9/11 attacks and has also reported from Afghanistan and the Middle East.
At Fox, Leventhal provided coverage of the Columbia space shuttle accident from Houston and the rescue of the nine coal miners in Pennsylvania.
Before joining the network, he was a reporter at WNBC New York and WFLD Chicago, where he also served as a substitute anchor.
