NBC pops big Monday numbers

Morning Ratings Flash - Rick Kissell

NBC dominated Monday in key demo categories with first-run episodes of hot reality skeins “Fear Factor” and “Average Joe” and drama “Las Vegas,” according to preliminary nationals from Nielsen.

Leading the way for NBC was “Average Joe” (7.2/18 in adults 18-49, 14.1 million viewers overall), which led at 10 with the net’s highest regular-series 18-49 result in the hour in more than five years. Also, “Fear Factor” (6.1/16 in adults 18-49, 14.3 million viewers overall) matched its highest regular-slot rating of the season, and 9 o’clock rookie drama “Las Vegas” set series highs (5.6/13 in adults 18-49, 13.0 million viewers overall).

CBS was solid with a night of repeats, led by “Everybody Loves Raymond” (5.3/13 in adults 18-49, 16.8 million viewers overall) and “CSI: Miami” (4.9/12 in adults 18-49, 15.5 million viewers overall), while Fox was well behind the pack with a rebroadcast of theatrical “The Wedding Singer” (2.4/6 in adults 18-49, 5.5 million viewers overall).

ABC will finish second on the night in 18-49, although preliminary averages for its programs are sketchy due to the nature of its live “Monday Night Football.”
