Commercial web Fuji TV will receive the George Foster Peabody Award on May 19 in New York for its news program “The Hepatitis C Epidemic: A 15-Year Government Cover-up,” making it the first Japanese network to win the honor.

The program, a segment of Fuji’s latenight weekday news show “News Japan,” last year won the Japan Newspaper Publishers and Editors Assn. Award for investigative re-porting.
