Fox skeins slow out of the box

Morning Ratings Flash - Rick Kissell

Fox bowed its new Monday lineup to surprisingly low ratings Monday, as neither “The Next Joe Millionaire” nor drama “Skin” drew much of an aud, according to preliminary nationals from Nielsen.

“Joe Millionaire” (3.1/9 in adults 18-49, 6.6 million viewers overall) ran fourth for its 8 o’clock hour in 18-49, settling for less than one-third of what the smash original edition of the series opened to early this year. And at 9, “Skin” (2.7/7 in adults 18-49, 6.5 million viewers overall) also placed fourth.

ABC will win the night in key demos behind a strong delivery for “Monday Night Football” (projected 7.1/18 in adults 18-49, 16.8 million viewers overall), while CBS was a solid second, led by “CSI: Miami” (6.4/16 in adults 18-49, 17.6 million viewers overall) and “Everybody Loves Raymond” (projected 5.7/13 in adults 18-49, 18.2 million viewers overall).

NBC remained solid from 8 to 10 with “Fear Factor” (5.1/14 in adults 18-49, 12 million viewers overall) and “Las Vegas” (4.6/11 in adults 18-49, 11.5 million viewers overall), both of which were actually up slightly week-to-week despite the increased competish from Fox’s series.

Preliminary 18-49 averages for the night: ABC, 5.7/15; CBS, 5.2/13; NBC, 4.4/11; Fox, 2.7/7; WB, 1.7/4; UPN, 1.6/4.
