Spec to feature interviews, memorable clips
HOLLYWOOD — Fox is holding a high school reunion for the “Beverly Hills, 90210” gang, and among those heading back to the zip code for the big event is none other than Shannen Doherty.
Doherty, who ankled the show in 1994 after rumored tensions on the set, will reunite with the cast on May 11 for a TV spesh dubbed “Beverly Hills, 90210: 10-year High School Reunion.”
Spec will feature interviews with the show’s original cast, including Doherty (Brenda Walsh), Jason Priestley (Brandon Walsh), Luke Perry (Dylan McKay), Jennie Garth (Kelly Taylor) and Gabrielle Carteris (Andrea Zuckerman), whose characters graduated from high school in 1993. James Eckhouse and Carol Potter, who played Brenda and Brandon’s parents, are also on board to participate.
Noticeably absent from the list are Tori Spelling — who is busy lensing two pilots — Brian Austin Green and Ian Ziering, but a Fox rep said final details could change before shooting begins Friday.
The clan will share favorite moments from the series, talk about their nervousness when auditioning and discuss how the show has impacted their careers. The special will also spotlight unforgettable scenes.
Aaron Spelling and Brad Lachman are executive producing.
“90210,” which was the net’s longest running drama series, bowed in October 1990 and bid adieu in May 2000.
