HOLLYWOOD– Fox Sports Intl. signed a four-year agreement with Major League Soccer to televise 25 regular-season games and eight playoff games each season on Fox Sports World and Fox Sports en Espanol.
The agreement extends to Fox-affiliated networks in Latin America and the Middle East, the league and network said. Financial terms weren’t disclosed.
“Saturday Night Soccer on Fox Sports World” will open with D.C. United playing the Kansas City Wizards on April 12. News Corp.-backed Fox also will produce a one-hour weekly highlight show and broadcast Saturday games in Spanish on Fox Sports en Espanol.
ABC and ESPN have broadcast MLS games since its inaugural season in 1996. The contract was extended in 2001 for five years.
