Emeril Lagasse and Food Network have agreed to kick it up a notch.
Chef has signed a five-year, multi-million dollar deal with the network. While terms of the agreement were not disclosed, deal calls for 90 new episodes of “Emeril Live” and 26 segments of “Essence of Emeril” each year, as well as multiple specials.
Deal is for international rights and VOD, DVD and homevideo rights so that the channel can exploit the brand overseas.
“Emeril remains the cornerstone of the network,” said Judy Girard, prexy of the Food Network. “His energy and enthusiasm are incomparable and his connection to viewers is unparalleled.”
Lagasse’s show bowed 10 years ago with launch of the Food Network. He currently operates six restaurants, with two more set to open later this year.
