Cablevision taps Broc CEO

New topper had been Visat deputy CEO

MEXICO CITY — Cablevision, Mexico’s largest cabler, has tapped Jean Paul Broc as its new CEO, replacing Xavier von Bertrab, who is leaving to start his own company.

Broc has spent nearly 20 years working for Cablevision’s majority owner, Grupo Televisa, most recently as deputy CEO at pay TV programming arm Visat. There, he supervised the production, distribution and marketing of Televisa’s feevees, which include music nets Telehit and Bandamax and sudser channel Novelas — experience that has enabled him to get to know Mexico’s myriad of independent cablers well.

Televisa hopes to name Broc’s successor at Visat later this month.
