Burke, Davis will anchor at E! news

New weekday anchors to join the entertainment channel

John Burke and Alisha Davis have signed on to anchor “E! News Live,” the entertainment cabler’s weekday newscast.

Pair begin hosting duties Jan. 12.

Burke and Davis will also cover red-carpet programming for the channel, including next month’s Golden Globes kudocast.

“We are excited to welcome John and Alisha to E!,” exec VP of entertainment Mark Sonnenberg said. “Their dynamic personalities, strong on-air background and knowledge of the world of entertainment make them a perfect addition to the team.”

Daily edition of “Live” airs at 7 p.m. Giuliana DePandi and Patrick Stinson will continue to host the hourlong weekend edition of “E! News Live.”

Cabler also announced it’s developing a primetime project for DePandi.

“Her reputation as a consummate professional in Hollywood is well deserved, and in only a short time with E!, she truly has become a globally recognizable personality,” Sonnenberg said. “We look forward to working with her to develop a new stand-alone project that will showcase her dynamic spirit, charisma and unique style of interviewing.”

Burke hosted AMC’s “Behind the Screen With John Burke” and events on the History Channel, Pax TV and HGTV.

Davis previously served as the primetime culture and entertainment anchor for CNN Headline News. She also worked as a journo for Newsweek and International Business magazine.
