Bosnian TV licenses extended

World Brief

TV regulatory body the CRA is to extend licenses by two years for public nets and 10 years for commercial networks when the current two-year licenses expire this year.

The extensions will be automatic, unless broadcasters had violated ethics rules (such as encouraging violence or ethnic hate). Shorter extensions were meted out to the 12 public nets because the government plans to auction them off within two years.

The CRA also has decided to make fees contingent on aud size rather than the geographic reach of a signal.
