‘Beastly,’ ‘Wild,’ ‘Baby,’ ‘Nature’ get TV deals

Toronto-based Ellis Group’s production subsidiary Ellis Vision has signed multi-network deals for four series.

“Beastly Countdowns,” a series profiling “the animal kingdom’s least likeable denizens,” will air on Animal Planet and Discovery Channel Canada.

Travel and wildlife themes will be featured as “Wild Sites” goes to Alaska, Wrangel Island, Siberia, and Yellowstone National Park. The one-hour series will air on Travel Channel and Discovery Asia later this year.

“The Baby Human” is set to air on Discovery Health, Discovery Health Canada and Discovery Asia later this month.

Nine new one-hour episodes of “Profiles of Nature,” which will air on Animal Planet, Discovery Channel and Discovery Channel Canada, explore animals’ behaviour.
