LONDON — U.S. cable network BBC America has picked up Granada International’s comedy drama series “At Home With the Braithwaites.”
Series, about a suburban family whose lives are transformed by a massive lottery jackpot, aired on U.K. web ITV and ranked in the top 20 TV dramas shown on U.K. terrestrial TV this year. Deal was brokered by John Norman, vice president sales, Granada Intl. U.S.
” ‘At Home With the Braithwaites’ features a great cast in a bold, colourful and fresh drama that has wide appeal and explores themes that have relevance on both sides of the Atlantic,” said David Bernath, BBC America vice president of programming. “We’re looking forward to adding the program in September to BBC America’s highly acclaimed lineup of contemporary British entertainment programming.”
Granada Intl. has also sold to over 30 territories worldwide including Canada, Australia, Finland, Norway and Eastern Europe.
Additionally, U.S. arts channel Trio, part of USA Network, has picked up the digitally remastered classic miniseries “Brideshead Revisited”. Deal will see drama broadcast in the U.S. 20 years after its debut.
