The third and final piece of the “Pie,” “American Wedding,” preemed last Thursday at Universal CityWalk with only half the original cast on hand for the bigscreen nuptials and reception at the neighboring Hard Rock Cafe.
Guests celebrated the latest installment sans absentees such as Chris Klein. Jason Biggs “definitely missed the people who were not there,” but said of the returning co-stars, “when we are on the set together it’s like we never missed a beat.” Father of the groom, Eugene Levy remarked of his “son” Biggs, “we do have great chemistry.”
And with this marriage under her belt, U’s prexy of production Mary Parent isn’t waiting for a ring to announce her next engagement with a “Pie” player: U’s forthcoming deal with scribe Adam Herz.
Band-camp bride Alyson Hannigan, who’s engaged herself, admitted with blushing nostalgia, “I actually got choked up at my own fake wedding.”
Also in attendance to watch the exchange of vows: U’s Ron Meyer, Stacey Snider, Scott Stuber, Adam Fogelson, Ally Brecker; producers Chris and Paul Weitz; Pie’s helmer Jesse Dylan; pic’s Seann William Scott, Thomas Ian Nicholas, Fred Willard, Jennifer Coolidge; thesps Heather Graham and Shia LeBeouf.
