Gore along for ride at ‘Cowboy’ bow

Former veep knows producer, book writer

Looks like Al Gore is headed for a perfect record this legit season. At Thursday night’s opening for “Urban Cowboy,” the former vice president admitted that his last Broadway preem was the short-lived “Dance of the Vampires.”

Democratic bigwig Lawrence Horowitz helped produce the undead tuner, and Gore said he knows “Cowboy” book writer Aaron Latham and his wife, CBS’ Leslie Stahl.

“I e-mailed him an invitation,” Stahl revealed.

Remembering back to the misfortune of “Vampires,” Gore could only grimace: “It looks like I’m one for two.”

At least for the present. Producers of “Urban Cowboy” put up a closing notice on Friday, then took it down the very next day.
