Girls revel in ‘How to’ bash

Mandy Moore preem brings out the femmes

Gotham’s “How to Deal” preem on July 16 might have been mistaken for a sorority party, with gals-about-town Lauren Bush and Amanda Hearst as chapter presidents. Girls outnumbered boys by about 20 to 1, but the pic’s star Mandy Moore made up for the low testosterone count by bringing along her hunky boyfriend Andy Roddick, who attracted as much fuss in a dark suit as he does in tennis whites.

Roddick played it cool though, dashing by the paparazzi at the screening and retreating to a corner of Lobby, a Midtown club, during the after-party, to nurse a Heineken.

Next to him the bubble-gum cute Moore chatted up journos, brushing off the suggestion that she is anything like her sulky character in the film. “Halley was a bit of a stretch,” she said.

At the other end of the room Allison Janney, looking like she might be on a Linda Hamilton toning program, presided over a more grown-up crowd.

The “West Wing” thesp said for her next role she’s hoping for a “huge action film.”

“I want to be a Sigourney Weaver. A female Superman.”

The M&M munching guests (from big bowls of the colored candies) included Trent Ford, Sarah Hughes, pic’s producer Erica Huggins, Evan Handler and Elizabeth Kieselstein-Cord.
