Nothing says autumn in New York … like a film noir set in Florida.
Monday marked the Gotham bow of “Out of Time,” and the natives gladly braved the first nip of fall to attend the unspooling.
Swanning around the after-party at the Boat House in Central Park were Taye Diggs, Mos Def, Paul Schrader, Buck Henry, Walter Mosley, Anthony Edwards and Jeanine Lobell.
Denzel Washington ducked out early, as shooting on “The Manchurian Candidate” has begun.
Luckily, co-star Sanaa Lathan stuck around to sing his praises, comparing his technique to “Michael Jordan in his heyday.” For Lathan, the toughest part of the gig was watching the pic: “I’m so used to being the girl that gets the guy,” she sighed.
Exec producer Jon Berg mused about the appeal of setting mysteries in Florida: “What you see is never what you get.”
Also in attendance: MGM honchos Alex Yemenidjian, Chris McGurk and Michael Nathanson; director Carl Franklin and producer wife Jesse B’Franklin;scribe Dave Collard; and co-stars Eva Mendes, Dean Cain and John Billingsley.
