Author King says film is like a 'tour of his own head'

Aliens landed in Westwood March 19 as Warner Bros. bowed its chiller “Dreamcatcher.”

Frightmeister Stephen King, who has seen more than 40 of his works turned into films or TV projects, lauded helmer Larry Kasdan for capturing the flavor of his 600-plus page tale of friendship and UFOs.

“When it’s done right,” King said, watching his characters onscreen, “is like taking a tour of your own head.”

Along for the tour were Warner Bros. execs Alan Horn and Dan Fellman; Castle Rock’s Martin Shafer; Village Roadshow’s Bruce Berman; producer Charles Okun; scribe William Goldman; stars Morgan Freeman, Thomas Jane, Jason Lee, Tom Sizemore, Damian Lewis, Timothy Olyphant and Donnie Wahlberg; plus guests including Joel Silver, Patricia Arquette and JoBeth Williams.
