‘Confidence’ builder

Stars Burns, Hoffman, Weisz on hand for bow

HOLLYWOOD — Lions Gate vice chairman Michael Burns related a confidence crisis of his own during the company’s latest bow party at the Academy theater. Burns said he visited the “Confidence” set flying high “after cajoling Dustin Hoffman into doing the movie.”

Then the thesp asked who was going to distribute the pic — a deflating query for the head of a company that distributes its own films.

Burns said he “told him we have a long way to go.”

Among those on hand were Lions Gate’s Jon Feltheimer, Tom Ortenberg and Michael Paseornek; director James Foley; producers Marc Butan, Michael Ohoven and John Sacchi; stars Ed Burns, Dustin Hoffman, Rachel Weisz and Andy Garcia; plus guests Brett Ratner, Bruce Vilanch, Rosie Perez, Julie Yorn, Jeremy Barber, Michelle Jannone, Darren Aronofsky and Cassian Elwes.
