CNNfn senior correspondent Steve Young died Sunday April 27 after a long battle with lung cancer. He was 61.
He covered technology, first for about 20 years at CBS including Cape Canaveral and the Soviet Union, then for CNN starting in 1987.
Kudos include sharing Overseas Press Club Award in 1995 for live broadcasts from Havana; a Peabody for coverage of the 1987 stock market crash; several Ohio State U. awards for investigative reporting; and a Sigma Delta Chi Award.
Emerson College alum was previously a member of the adjunct faculty of Columbia U.’s journalism school and was a co-author of the journalism standard textbook “Broadcast Writing, Editing and Reporting.”
