Stephanie Tyrell

Stephanie Georgia Manteris Tyrell, lyricist, producer and wife of producer and songwriter Steve Tyrell, died of cancer on Monday, Oct. 27, in Los Angeles. She was 54.

Stephanie Tyrell co-wrote the song “How Do You Talk to an Angel,” from TV show “The Heights.” Songs she co-wrote have been featured in films such as “Father of the Bride,” “The Client,” “The Santa Clause II,” “Mystic Pizza” and “The Brady Bunch.” She also wrote the lyrics for “Remember the Dream,” the theme for Black Entertainment Television.

In addition she produced several albums for her husband.

Tyrell is survived by her husband, three children, a sister and four brothers. A memorial service will be held in November.
