Warun to run Beantown’s promo ops

Exec to o'see co. projects, bring in new business

Game Show Network VP-creative director Kenneth Warun jumps today to a new job as senior VP at Beantown Prods., overseeing the TV promo and production company’s growing New York office.

Warun has been at Sony’s Game Show Network for four years, initially as VP of on-air promotion before becoming VP-creative director. He oversaw the launch and episodic campaigns for all the net’s shows and created sponsored shortform shows such as “Second Chance,” “Quizine” and “Screen Test.”

At Beantown, he will oversee company projects such as the ongoing on-air promotions for Buena Vista TV’s syndicated “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” as well as work for cablers such as Court TV and the Food Network. He also will be responsible for bringing in new business.

“Ken has successfully created everything from on-air promotional campaigns to stunts and interstitial programming, sales tapes, launch kits and print advertising,” Beantown partner David Comtois said. “His prolific background is the perfect complement to ours.”

Warun has spent more than 15 years in the industry, collecting nearly two dozen Clio, Promax, Telly and BDA Gold awards. Before the Game Show Network, he worked as director of on-air promotions for E! and the Style Network. He previously was a senior writer and producer at E! and was an independent writer and producer for, among others, Beantown.

Like the partners in the 11-year-old Beantown, Warun is an alumnus of Boston U.
