VH1 has upped Jerry Leo to VP, program planning and scheduling.
Leo will now schedule programs, series, stunts and events for the channel. He will continue to develop and package original programming as well as track program development and skedding.
Gotham-based Leo will report to Ben Zurier, senior VP of programming strategy. He joined the channel in 1998 as exec assistant to Jeff Gaspin.
As director of program planning, he created weekly skeds and planned theme weeks and stunts. “VH1 Goes Inside: TV Farewells,” “All Access: Jen Loves Ben” and “Behind the Music 5th Anniversary” are some of the events he was involved in.
“The pace with which he generates ideas that hold real appeal for the VH1 audience will be counted upon heavily,” Zurier said.
Leo joined MTV Networks in 1995, after beginning his career at NBC.
