Sony ups Bonini to exec veepee

Responsibilities include labor relations, employment issues

Jean Bonini has been promoted to exec VP of labor relations in Sony Pictures Entertainment’s legal department.

Bonini will report to exec VP-general counsel Leah Weil and assume responsibility over labor relations and employment legal issues for SPE and its operating divisions. She replaces Joel Grossman, who will be leaving to become a private arbitrator.

“Jean’s vast knowledge of the field and her grasp of the company’s business needs will strengthen an already strong labor relations group,” said Weil. “This promotion recognizes Jean’s hard work, wisdom and significant contributions over the years.”

Bonini joined SPE in 1991 as a director of labor relations. She was promoted to vice president in 1993 and senior VP in 1997. She previously held various positions in labor relations and business affairs at CapCities/ABC, CBS Entertainment and Reeves Entertainment.
