Shaughnessy leaves 'Young,' Convoy ankles 'Light'
David Shaughnessy will exit as executive producer of CBS Daytime’s “The Young and the Restless” on Friday, the Eye has confirmed.
Shakeup isn’t the only one at CBS daytime. John Convoy, exec producer of “Guiding Light,” is also ankling.
CBS could not be reached late Monday on Convoy’s status.
At “Young and the Restless,” Edward Scott will return as supervising producer. Scott left the sudser in late 2001 after contentious contract negotiations. Scott is skedded to begin his new duties on Jan. 5, after the show’s holiday hiatus.
Sudser insiders said someone may be brought in above Scott as exec producer in the months ahead.
CBS would not comment on the reasons for Shaughnessy’s departure. Shaughnessy had worked under Scott when Scott was the soap’s exec producer.
