Alphabet uncovers relationship show, celebrates 200th 'Drew'
NBC has decided on an opening date for “The Restaurant,” while ABC is finally ready to roll out “The Dating Experiment” and bring back “The Drew Carey Show.”“The Restaurant,” from exec producers Ben Silverman and Mark Burnett, will begin its six-week run Sunday, July 20, at 10 p.m. It displaces Dick Wolf’s “Crime & Punishment,” which will have aired about half of its 13-episode second-season order. Remaining segs will be seen either later this summer or be used as a midseason replacement for a failed NBC drama. Burnett and Silverman’s “Restaurant” is a sort of unscripted workplace drama following the launch and operation of an actual Gotham eatery. Meanwhile, ABC is ready to launch reality skein “The Dating Experiment,” on the shelf for more than a year and once known as “Future Diaries.” Relationship-oriented hour will air Wednesday at 10 p.m. starting June 25. As for “Drew,” laffer will return to ABC’s lineup Wednesday, June 25, at 9 p.m. with the skein’s landmark 200th episode. ABC will double-pump the series for five weeks before “The Real Roseanne Show” bows Aug. 6.
