Seventh annual kudofest will air May 25 on FX

The Prism Awards will fete James Woods with the Heritage Award and Tribute Entertainment topper Dick Askin with the Larry Stewart Leadership Award.

Honoring the accuracy of addiction representation, the Prisms, held May 8 at Henry Fonda Music Box Theater, will recognize Woods for his Emmy-winning role in 1989’s “My Name Is Bill W” as a co-founder of Alcoholics Anonymous and for his 1988 role as alcoholic Lenny Brown in “The Boost.” The Heritage Award is awarded to perfs from before the 1997 inception of the Prism Awards. Askin will receive the Stewart Leadership and Inspiration nod for 13 years of dedication boasting responsibility for initial TV casting of the Prism Awards and the later expansion to 20 major markets.

The seventh annual kudofest will air May 25 as an hourlong spesh on FX.
