'Big Red Dog' spinoff to focus on literacy and community
NEW YORK — PBS Kids has picked up kiddie skein “Clifford’s Puppy Days” from Scholastic Entertainment.
Animated series is a spinoff of the award-winning “Clifford the Big Red Dog,” now in its third season. Aimed at the age 4-7 set, “Puppy Days” will focus on literacy and community. Clifford character is based on the children’s book series by Normal Bridwell.
Order is for 25 episodes, set to bow this fall. Series features the voice of Henry Winkler.
Scholastic Entertainment’s other properties include “The Magic School Bus” and “I Spy.” Upcoming projects include a co-production with New Line of Philip Pullman’s “His Dark Materials” fantasy trilogy.
