Exec helped build 'Bob' after joining company in '99

Nickelodeon has delivered veepee stripes to Teri Weiss, upping her to vice prexy of Nick Jr.

In her new role, Weiss will oversee the preschool net’s programs, including signature skeins “Dora the Explorer” and “Blue’s Clues.” She will continue to report to Brown Johnson, exec VP of Nick Jr.

Most recently executive in charge of production, Weiss joined Nick in 1999. She was involved in the launches of “Bob the Builder” and “Dora the Explorer” and has also played a role in Nick Jr.’s foray into the baby homevideo market.

Weiss began her career at Comedy Central working on the series “Onion World,” “Night After Night” and “Sportsmonster.” Her other credits include “Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?” and “Square One TV.”

Before joining Nick Jr., Weiss was a producer at Sesame Street, where her work garnered two Emmy Awards and three Parent Choice Awards.
