'Doggy' co-creator will report to Calderone

NEW YORK — MTV has upped Jesse Ignjatovic to VP of music and talent development.

In his new role, the 11-year MTV veteran will develop projects for music talent along with longform music-based programming. Based in MTV’s Santa Monica office, Ignjatovic also will head the West Coast production team.

He will report to Tom Calderone, MTV and MTV2 exec VP of music and talent programming.

“Jesse’s drive to create and execute new programming and flair for crafting high-quality shows has been consistent over his 11 years at the channel,” Calderone said. “His knowledge of music and his advocacy for artists makes him vital to the evolving music programming landscape of MTV.”

Ignjatovic began his career in MTV’s news and docs department, where he had a hand in series “Ultra Sound” and “Diary.” In 2000 he switched to the music and talent arm, where he co-created and co-produced shows “MTV Icon” and “First Listen” with partner Michele Dix. His latest project is Snoop Dogg vehicle “Doggy Fizzle Televizzle.”
