Net to create show around Krakowski, cast her in pilot

Jane Krakowski (“Ally McBeal”) has sealed a talent deal with CBS, which hopes to develop a comedy vehicle for the actress.

Krakowski recently won a Tony Award for her starring role in Roundabout Theatre Company revival of “Nine.” She departs from her role on Sunday.

The thesp is probably still best known as Ally McBeal’s secretary Elaine Vassal on the long-running Fox skein. CBS will look to create a show around Krakowski for fall 2004 consideration; under terms of the talent hold, she may also be cast in one of the net’s comedy or drama pilots.

Krakowski will next film a remake of “Alfie” opposite Jude Law, for Paramount. Her feature credits also include “Marci X,” “The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas” and “Go.”

The actress guested last season on The WB’s “Everwood.”

She also spent several years on the sudser “Search for Tomorrow.”

Krakowski is repped by Gersh.
