EMI’s Van Hoff adds Teuton duties

Niel van Hoff, managing director of EMI Music Netherlands, will also head the company’s German division.

Van Hoff replaces Udo Lange, who has led Virgin Records’ German activities since 1982. Virgin last year merged with Germany’s EMI Electrola to become EMI Music Germany. EMI didn’t give a reason for Lange’s sudden exit, and didn’t comment as to whether the move was related to a possible takeover of Warner Music.
