The Writers Guild of America has set 5:30 p.m. Oct. 15 as the deadline for submissions for the 2003 Writers Guild Television & Radio Awards.
Honors will be doled out at the 56th annual Writers Guild Awards on Feb. 21, with simultaneous ceremonies at the Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles and the Pierre Hotel in Gotham.
Eligible scripts must have been produced under the jurisdiction of the WGA between Dec. 1, 2002 and Nov. 30, 2003 and scribes may submit only one entry per category.
Categories for consideration for radio are docu and radio news script analysis (feature or commentary). The 16 TV categories are longform original; longform adaptation; animation; episodic drama; episodic comedy; comedy/variety series (including talk); comedy/variety (specials); music awards and tributes; docu script (current events); docu script (excluding current events); news script (regularly skedded, bulletin or breaking report); news script (analysis, feature, or commentary); daytime serial; children’s script; on-air promo; and graphic design.
