Changes afoot for WB in Europe, Africa

Exex shuffled in key territories

HOLLYWOOD — Warner Bros. Intl. Television Distribution is restructuring some of its European, African and Mideast sales operations, prexy Jeffrey R. Schlesinger announced Wednesday.

Mickie Steinmann, who is sales director for Scandinavia, Benelux, Greece, Turkey and Cyprus, is being promoted to sales VP and will continue to handle Scandinavia and Benelux, while adding Israel and panregional Middle Eastern satellite services to his purview.

Acquisitions executive Nicky Wood is joining as sales director, where she will handle Russia, Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Ukraine and South Africa. Joanna Langton is joining as sales director, handling several Central and Eastern European countries and Africa (excluding South Africa).

All three are based in WBITD’s London office. Steinmann and Wood will report to Chris Law, managing director of U.K. territories, and Langton will report to Steinmann.

Sales for Greece, Turkey and Cyprus will be shifted to WBITD’s offices in Madrid.

Steinmann joined WBITD in 2000 from Columbia TriStar Intl. Television, where he was director of international TV sales, responsible for Scandinavia, Finland, Benelux, Greece, Cyprus and Israel.

Wood joins from U.K. satcaster BskyB, where she was head of acquisitions for Sky One and Sky One Mix.

Langton joins from TVF Intl., where she headed the largest independent documentary distribution company in the U.K.
