Duties to include domestic marketing research, nat'l promos
Warner Bros Pictures has promoted Diane Nelson to executive vice president of domestic marketing.
Nelson will continue to work closely with Dawn Taubin, president of domestic marketing for the studio, in the strategic development and management of the studio’s feature film marketing campaigns with emphasis on cross-studio marketing activities.
Nelson, who was previously senior VP of domestic marketing, also oversees the management of the “Harry Potter” franchise and the studio’s interests with “Potter” author J.K. Rowling. Her responsibilities will now include the direct reporting of administration, domestic marketing research, targeted marketing, the Idea Place, strategic communications, domestic marketing services and national promotions.
Nelson became senior VP of domestic marketing in February 2002 after serving in a variety of marketing positions at the studio.
She joined the studio as director of worldwide corporate promotions, was promoted to VP in March 1998 and in January 2001 became senior VP of family entertainment for Warner Bros. corporate worldwide marketing and planning.
She joined WB from her previous post as director of national promotions for Walt Disney Records.
