Exec to handle media relations, pen speeches
UPN has rocked Paul Hewitt, baby, upping him to vice president of communications at the netlet.
Hewitt will continue to handle UPN’s corporate media relations, while also writing executive speeches for both the netlet and parent web CBS. He reports to Joanna Lowry, senior VP of media relations, who made the announcement Thursday.
“Paul is an incredible asset to UPN as a writer, communicator and executive,” she said. “This promotion is a reflection of the excellent job he’s doing.”
Hewitt joined the smackdown web in May 2001 as director of corporate communications. Prior to that, he briefly flirted with independent PR and the dot.com world.
His resume also includes stints as manager of corporate communications at Fox from 1998 to 2000. He joined Fox in 1995 as a research analyst for the net’s research and marketing department.
