Variety is teaming with Studio System, a data management provider for the entertainment industry, to share key information and better serve their subscribers.
The feeds from these two entertainment industry sources include current and archived news and reviews from Variety.com and credits and contacts from Studio System.
Variety.com is creating added value for its readers by unveiling the Vault, which is powered by Studio System.
This new source of information about people, projects and companies in the industry contains key sections of Studio System content such as contact data, credits, start and release dates, shoot locations, production and distribution notes and above- and below-the-line episodic statistics.
Subscribers access the Vault through the search pulldown screen on pages throughout Variety.com or by clicking on the Vault link on the left navigation bar. Future plans include hyperlinking key words within news stories into Studio System’s comprehensive database.
Studio Systems targeted the Variety data exchange in an effort to achieve its ongoing goal to become the “one-stop-shop” solution for all of its clients’ entertainment research needs. The Variety.com feed, which includes more than 100,000 Variety articles dating back to 1992 and reviews dating back to 1914, is accessible throughout the database on “people,” “project” and “company” detail pages. Users also can access the top 10 stories of the day on the Studio System home page.
