LONDON — Pubcaster Thirteen/WNET New York and U.K. distrib Granada Intl. have pacted to produce a number of natural history programs.
Cornerstone of the agreement will be “Jungle,” commissioned by commercial web ITV1 in the U.K. and produced by Granada Wild in association with Thirteen/WNET’s “Nature” strand on PBS. “Jungle” is skedded for delivery in late 2004.
Deal includes the co-production of three other wildlife programs.
Granada Intl. will hold worldwide distribution rights outside the U.S. for the series, which will be broadcast in the U.S. on PBS as part of the “Nature” block. PBS also has acquired Granada Wild’s “In the Company of Eagles” and “The Real Macaw.”
