The time’s right for thesp Wendy Crewson (“What Lies Beneath”): She’s joining the third-season cast of “24” in a recurring role.
Crewson, who plays Robert Redford’s mistress in Fox Searchlight’s upcoming feature “The Cleaning,” will appear in at least eight episodes of the Fox skein, starting with the season premiere. As always with “24,” details about her role are being tightly held by producers, but she’s expected to be involved in the political side of the skein’s ever-complicated government/bad guy equation.
Thesp has a busy release sked in the coming months. In addition to her part in the Redford starrer, she’s set to appear in Colin Farrell pic “A Home at the End of the World” and opposite Tom Selleck in the CBS telepic “Twelve Mile Road.” She’ll also play an abused wife in Showtime’s “Jack.”
Crewson’s last regular series gig was in ABC drama “The Beast.”
