‘Switched’ goes primetime

Version of teen show to spotlight adults

NEW YORK — ABC Family will expand its afternoon reality strip “Switched” into primetime.

In the show, two people from different backgrounds swap lives. Weekday afternoon edition focuses on teens from different walks of life. Primetime version, to bow Saturday, will spotlight adults.

Premiere episode will feature designer Genevieve Gorder, of TLC’s “Trading Spaces,” who becomes a Seattle fishmonger for a day. Future segments will include a Hollywood assistant who switches with a dude ranch worker, and Elisa Donovan (“Sabrina the Teenage Witch”), who becomes a tour guide for a day.

In all ABC Family will unspool six adult-centered episodes. Show is produced by Charles Cook Prods. and Evolution Film & Tape.
