Strix strikes format pact

MTG's Swedish subsid to develop, produce

AMSTERDAM — Modern Times Group’s Swedish format churner Strix has signed a one-year option agreement with Spanish production outfit Gestmusic Endemol for Strix’s catalog of reality TV formats, in a deal similar to the one it inked last month with Endemol France.

The agreement gives Gestmusic Endemol the right to develop and produce Strix’s 21-strong portfolio, including hits “The Farm” and “Harem,” as well as the first option on new formats in the coming year.

Gestmusic Endemol has created 75 formats in its 16-year history, and is a specialist in format entertainment.

“It’s the second output deal for Strix in a major European territory. The fact that we are striking these deals in Latin markets is also a very important step for us,” noted Anna Carrfors Brakehielm, CEO of Strix Television.
