Sony Pictures Television has tapped Dawn Steinberg senior VP, talent and casting.
Steinberg, who joins the fold from NBC, will oversee casting of all current SPT series, movies and minis, as well as projects in development for network, cable and firstrun syndication.
While at the Peacock, Steinberg served as a casting consultant overseeing studio casting for the fall 2002 and 2003 pilot seasons, including “Boomtown” and upcoming projects “Las Vegas” and “Happy Family.” In addition, Steinberg performed double duty last spring as the casting director for the new laffer “Coupling.”
“Throughout her career, Dawn has displayed both a sharp eye and discriminating taste when it comes to finding talent,” said Russ Krasnoff, SPT prexy of programming and production, to whom she will report.
“She’s not afraid to make bold choices, and the diverse and original casts she’s put together reflect that spirit.”
Prior to her gig at NBC, Steinberg was senior veep, talent and casting, at Artists Television Group, a post she held from 1998-2000.
