Philip Livingstone, who was instrumental in the worldwide launch of the “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” franchise, has been tapped executive director, worldwide formats, at Sony Pictures Television Intl.
Appointment was unveiled at Mipcom by SPTI veep of worldwide formats Chris Pye, who was named to his post on Thursday.
Livingstone will oversee launch, branding and production issues related to Sony’s licensed formats around the world, focusing on European, African and Middle Eastern markets. Based in London, he will report to Pye.
Most recently, Livingstone was head of international production at London-based Celador, creator of “Millionaire.”
