Discovery Networks Latin America/Iberia has tapped Guillermo Sierra VP of programming and production. The post has been vacant since Ryan Shiotani ankled nearly a year ago.
Sierra joins Discovery from LAPTV, a joint venture backed by Fox, MGM, Universal and Paramount that provides premium and basic movie pay cablers to Spanish-lingo territories in Latin America. He most recently was VP of the networks, overseeing programming, acquisitions and on-air promotion for the three LAPTV channels.
At Discovery, Sierra will oversee all programming, production and development for Discovery Channel, Discovery Kids, Discovery Health, Discovery Travel & Adventure, People+Arts and Animal Planet, the latter two a joint venture with BBC Worldwide.
