NEW YORK — It’s still nameless, but Twentieth TV’s syndie strip featuring “American Idol” host Ryan Seacrest has been busy locking up station commitments.
In two weeks, show has cleared in 65% of the country. It will launch on Fox O&Os nationwide Jan. 4 and has also been picked up in other cities by Viacom, Tribune and Clear Channel stations.
Significantly, the Seacrest skein has received a large number of clearances in the 5 p.m. early fringe slot.
Hourlong syndie strip also announced MTV alum Adam Freeman would join as co-exec producer.
Most recently supervising producer of “Total Request Live,” Freeman was also a writer-producer of several MTV events including “Spring Fling Survivors,” and “2Large: New Year’s Eve 2001.” He has produced more than 1,000 hours of live TV.
“Adam Freeman is the perfect fit for the fact-paced energy of this entertainment newsmagazine/variety show hybrid,” said Twentieth TV prexy and chief operating officer Bob Cook.
