Scott, Leary recall painful 'Dentists' memories at preem

“Tell the story about the first time I put a probe in your mouth,” Campbell Scott told Denis Leary before Tuesday’s Gotham preem of their new pic “The Secret Lives of Dentists.”

“You hurt me,” Leary retorted. “You injured me. You did. Hurt a lot. You stuck it in my lip and the second time you stuck it in my gum.”

Scott plays Leary’s anxiety-ridden D.D.S., whose shaky drill brought back bad memories for the cantankerous comic-thesp.

“When I was growing up as a kid, we had terrible, horrible dentists who were like ex-marines, didn’t use painkillers,” Leary said at the post-screening cocktails. “But then my baby sister became one and she’s actually pretty good.”

Others shining their pearly whites for the cameras at the Walter Reade Theater included Wallace Shawn, Sam Rockwell, Robert Altman, Stephen Baldwin, Josh Hamilton, Scott g.f. Patricia Clarkson, Isabella Rossellini, Jennifer Jason Leigh and pic’s helmer Alan Rudolph, who told preemgoers to “Say ahhh.”
