HOLLYWOOD — Tuesday’s preem of “Better Luck Tomorrow” at the Fine Arts Theater was one more pleasant stop on the journey director Justin Lin‘s credit card-financed film has taken him since it was accepted at Sundance.
The helmer said his phone started ringing off the hook with the news of the fest berth.
The upside: Potential reps took him “to every Laker game for, like, two months. And I got closer and closer until I finally got courtside.”
The downside: “My credit is horrible. I can’t even get a credit card with air miles.”
Among those attending were MTV Film’s Van Toffler and David Gale; Paramount’s Jonathan Dolgen, John Goldwyn and David Dinerstein; producer Julie Asato; stars Parry Shen, Sung Kang, Roger Fan and Karin Anna Cheung; plus guests Johnny Knoxville, David Permut, Ron Yerxa and Lisa Ling.
