Carson Daly will be the inaugural victim for MTV’s first comedy-concert event “MTV Bash.”
Created in the vein of “Comedy Central Roasts,” the hourlong special will let a star-studded roster of Daly’s showbiz pals send up the longtime “TRL” veejay.
Daly recently reupped his contract with the music network for two years (Daily Variety, May 13). He also hosts latenight talker “Last Call With Carson Daly” and syndicated radio program “Carson Daly’s Most Requested.”
“Carson’s a smart, talented guy who has come to represent pop culture and the MTV generation,” said Jeffrey Ross, show’s exec producer. “It’s going to be a great night to not only turn the heat up on Carson, but also goof on all of MTV.”
Programming prexy Brian Graden said “MTV Bash” will give celebrities the opportunity “to wipe that forced grin off of their faces and unload like they never have before.”
Event, which will tape June 28 at the Hollywood Palladium, is skedded to air in July.
MTV’s Ross and Tony DiSanto, alongside One Louder Prods.’ Bob Kusbit, will exec produce the special.
