MTV Int’l taps Bierer sr. veep

Exec to o'see business development

Bringing the longtime exec back into the fold after a two-year absence, MTV Networks Intl. has tapped Gideon Bierer for the newly created post of senior VP, strategy and operations.

Based in New York, he will report to exec VP Sahar Elhabashi.

Bierer will oversee business development across the international division’s businesses, as well as the international operations and productions units based in New York. Division includes the foreign ops of MTV, VH1 and Nickelodeon, as well as the Music Factory and Kindernet.

Exec signed on with MTV in London in 1996, moving to New York a year later to become veep of business development. After a four-year stint in his post, Bierer moved over to the online youth network Bolt, where he oversaw the international and wireless units.
